Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) is a flexible service option available under MN DHS Waivers, including CAC, CADI, DD, EW and BI waivers, that gives persons more flexibility and responsibility for directing their services and supports, including hiring and managing direct care staff.
All SWCIL Support Planners are Certified by the MN Department of Human Services.

Finding Support Staff
Many people and families struggle to find quality, reliable direct support workers. The State of Minnesota has created a dedicated job board and hiring resource for individuals to post help wanted ads, as well as individuals to post work they are seeking. Find more information here: Direct Support Connect.
Consumer Success Story...
After months of being unable to find a caregiver for their son, a family was finally approved for CDCS and able to provide needed cares for their son in their home. Now their son is able to thrive in his home and receive necessary supports from his parents as paid caregivers. They have also been able to add a sensory room and safety monitoring equipment to their home.
