Need a ramp or easy to use steps for your home?

The Southwestern Center for Independent Living (SWCIL) builds ramps or long-tread low-rise steps to provide easy access to your home. The ramps are modular and constructed using treated material.

In an effort to maintain the project and continue to provide individuals with low cost accessibility options, SWCIL charges for the cost of materials each time a ramp is constructed, plus a fee to cover the cost of material delivery and doing an on-site evaluation. SWCIL has been collaborating with the Minnesota Department of Corrections Sentence to Serve program for construction of modules and ramp/step installation so there is no labor charge.

Working together to help others.

An initial site evaluation will be conducted by SWCIL with the consumer receiving a diagram of the proposed ramp along with an estimated cost projection. Individuals requesting ramps will be responsible for securing the necessary building permits and variances for the project, if required.
