Youth School Group Services...

Another component of SWCIL's service delivery is to offer services in a setting most suitable  for the consumer.  For some people, a group setting is preferred.  This allows the individual the opportunity to work on specific skill development while offering the opportunity to interact with others, develop cooperative relationships, gain team building experience, and participate in    social and recreational activities.

School groups are formed to help students in gaining more independent living skills so that they can successfully transition from school into the adult world.  Some examples of training include: peer support, career development/employability skills, money/budgeting skills, career exploration, cooking skills, personal care attendant management, and transition from school to community living issues.  The number of students per group ranges from 3 to 15 dependent upon the skill taught.  We are open to individual one on one services with students in schools, as well.  The majority of involved students are at the high school level (9-12), however, elementary and middle school groups are also options.
